We had two days of rest between the Iowa Blast Swim meet and leaving for Chicago. The cherry trees were a top priority as the had come into full ripeness just as we were leaving for Iowa. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many waiting for us!
Erik and I also spent some time working on his English!
The children have a "bucket list" of activities they want to share with their exchange siblings. The beautiful natural Koi pond at the Herrings is one of the must visit places. It is owned by Mary Herring, a dear friend of Nana and Grandpa Gerry, so it is private property and we had the entire place to ourselves!
The pond was a little cold but fortunately it was a hot day!
This is summer at it's finest!
Charlotte and Remington in a splashing contest.
Erik discovering the waterfall.
The pond is surrounded by beautiful streams and lovely gardens.
Erik playing the "Fetch the duck" game with Harrison. Erik was being a very good sport!
Erik is no longer nervous to dive into water and displays his new talent whenever he gets the chance!
King of the mountain!
"Look. Mom. Cactus!"
There is also an amazing hobbit tunnel to go exploring.
Unfortunately one of the lightbulbs broke, slicing Madeline's foot. Our time of exploration was cut short.
Erik learning gymnastics.
Time to get the girls! Left to Right: Katherine, Charlotte, Manon, Madeline, Remington and Erik.
