The first weekend of June was a whopper! We had swimming, another dance recital, haircuts, exchange announcements and then another bon voyage!
Katherine and Erik taking selfies at swim practice.
Erik wearing his birthday swim cap.
Erik's swimming has improved immensely and he can now legally do all four strokes. Only two more weeks before Erik competes in his first swim meet!
Katherine has decided to go another exchange and this weekend (the day before she left for France) she found out she was matched with Andrea from Barcelona, Spain!
Saturday morning was the time for everyone to get haircuts. Harrison came with his entourage of adoring sisters.
Erik is loving having his hair cut in the US. He requested a spiky hair do!
With color of course... hmmm... a little red...
A little green...
Add a little blue and voila! you have a masterpiece!
Then it was time to attend the last dance recital of year. Harrison thinks his sisters are the most beautiful girls in the world!
Our tradition (and the only time you will find us in a candy store) is on the eve of travel we allow the traveling child to pick out some candies for their trip.
They also choose the restaurant for the family meal that night. HuHot Mongolian Grill is a favorite of more than one of our kids.
The beauty of HuHot is that the children get to create their own grilled creations.
They pick whatever meats, vegetables, fruits and sauces they want...
They bring the raw foods to the LARGE and very HOT grill to be cooked.
Katherine is off to Chaneins, France for six weeks to live with her previous exchange family.
Stopping at Nana and Grandpa's house on the way to the airport for a quick good-bye.
The plane that Katherine was take to Minneapolis had a malfunctioning light and the pilot refused to take off. They sent all the other passengers by bus, however, considering Katherine was an unaccompanied minor Delta had to transport her differently.
Yes... that would be Katherine's own private jet! She was the only passenger and boy did she feel special!
